I earned my <strong>Doctorate (PsychD in Counselling Psychology)<\/strong> from <strong>Regent&#8217;s University London<\/strong> in 2013, a five-year program that combined advanced clinical practice with research and the production of new knowledge. This training enabled me to lead clinical teams, design new therapeutic protocols, deepen my expertise in existential therapy, and engage extensively with mental health policy.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-39f0e9f sc_fly_static elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"39f0e9f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>I hold an <strong>MSc in Counselling Psychology<\/strong> from the <strong>University of East London<\/strong>, which provided me with a strong theoretical and clinical foundation in cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, and psychodynamic therapeutic approaches. Through my studies, I developed a deep appreciation for diversity and gained new perspectives on how to approach and collaborate with individuals from varied backgrounds<\/p><p>\u00a0For 15 years, I have acquired most of my professional experience working in the National Health System <strong>(NHS)<\/strong> and community mental health programs in the United Kingdom, in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. I have been maintaining a private practice in the center of Thessaloniki for the past five years. My extensive postgraduate and doctoral studies allow me to draw theories and techniques from a variety of psychotherapeutic models, including Existential, Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Systemic approaches. My philosophy is that therapy should adapt to the individual, not the other way around. I treat each client as a unique case; even when presenting similar difficulties as not all methods are suitable for everyone. I consider the quality of the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist to be the most important factor in effective therapy, regardless of the techniques used. A strong, collaborative relationship allows for deep exploration and ultimately facilitates meaningful change in the client\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 10px;\">My love and respect for people\u2014and for my work\u2014have guided me to create a <strong>safe and inclusive space<\/strong>, where every individual is met with acceptance, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, age, or disability. This is not simply politeness, but an <strong>active and intentional therapeutic stance<\/strong> that acknowledges how social discrimination and bias profoundly affect mental health.<\/p>\nAs a therapist, I never treat a client\u2019s identity as a problem to solve. On the contrary, I affirm, understand, and accept it unconditionally. I recognize that I do not know everything about another person\u2019s culture or experience, and I am always open to listening and learning without making assumptions or perpetuating harmful stereotypes. My experience has taught me that trauma and psychological distress are not solely personal issues\u2014they are often <strong>collective and systemic<\/strong>, shaped by factors such as misogyny, racism, and homophobia.
